Salman Khan (Indian film actor, producer and television personality)

* Salman Khan has a significant following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide, and is cited in the media as one of the most popular and commercially successful actors of Hindi cinema. He was ranked 7th in Forbes's first global list of highest-paid actors in the world with USD 33.5 million, earning more than Hollywood actors like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Khan established himself in Bollywood in the 1990s with roles in several top-grossing productions. After a brief period of decline in the 2000s, he achieved greater stardom in the 2010s by playing the lead role in several successful action films, including Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Kick (2014) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015). He has starred in the highest-grossing Bollywood films of nine separate years which is a Bollywood record. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the 2008 – Rajiv Gandhi Award for Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment.

In addition to his acting career, Khan is a stage performer and an active humanitarian through his charity organisation Being Human with his Brother Sooban Ahmad Khan. Khan's off-screen life is marred by controversy and legal troubles. His tumultuous relationship with Aishwarya Rai, hunting of endangered species, and a negligent driving case in which he ran over five people with his car, killing one, have been extensively covered by the Indian media. For the last of these, Khan was sentenced to a five-year imprisonment in 2015. Later on Salman was acquitted of all charges in the hit-and-run case by the Bombay High Court.

Lili St. Cyr, 1917-1999 (American burlesque striptease artiste)

* Lili St. Cyr was one of the most recognized acts in striptease in the 1940s and 1950s (along with Gypsy Rose Lee and Ann Corio). St. Cyr's name popped-up regularly in 1950s tabloids in stories about her many husbands (she married six times), brawls over her, and her attempted suicides.

Her acts had names like "The Wolf Woman", "Afternoon of a Faun", "The Ballet Dancer", "In a Persian Harem", "The Chinese Virgin", as well as "Suicide" (where she tried to woo a straying lover by revealing her body), and "Jungle Goddess" (in which she appeared to make love to a parrot). Lili was known not only for props like her bathtub, but elaborate sets of vanities, mirrors, and hat racks. She variously performed as Cinderella, a matador, a Salome, a bride, a suicide, Cleopatra and Dorina Grey.

St. Cyr retired from the stage in the 1970s, whereupon she began a lingerie business in which she would retain an interest until her death in Los Angeles, California on 29 January 1999, aged 81.

Born "Marie Frances Van Schaack," she had glamorous Neptune rising in Leo, high-class Saturn (also on the Ascendant) in Cancer ruled by a scandalous Scorpio Moon, sexy Pluto unaspected, dramatic Sun also unaspected, and "exotic dancer" Uranus in Aquarius at the apex of a fixed T-square.

I woke up at four o'clock with a bad stomach ache, ... I stood it until half past seven, ... Finally I had to go into the bedroom ... And finally it was over and a little child’s cry announced the birth of our little angelic son at half past two.'"

Justin Bieber (Canadian pop musician, actor, singer-songwriter)

* In her 2012 autobiography, Pattie Mallette states that her son, Justin Bieber, was born "around one in the morning on Tuesday, March 1, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital in London, Ontario, Canada." The unsourced birth time of "12.56 a.m." in Chas Newkey-Burden's 2010 Justin Bieber: The Unauthorized Biography is thus consistent with the info' provided by Mallette. Her statement also clarifies where the pop star was born. With a powerhouse combo of Pluto rising on an Ascendant in the last degree of Scorpio, Bieber is "the third-most powerful celebrity in the world."

Cixi, 1835-1908 (Chinese Empress Dowager)

* Empress Dowager Cixi was a powerful and charismatic woman who unofficially but effectively controlled the Manchu Qing Dynasty in China for 47 years, from 1861 to her death in 1908. Known as the 'Dragon Lady,' she had Saturn rising in Scorpio (as did 'Iron Lady' Margaret Thatcher). If we take at face value the time of birth of "four o'clock in the morning" given in a biography, then CiXi had 29° Libra rising. And indeed, she was adept at consolidating her political power through the manipulation of her close relations.

An imperial concubine in her adolescence, Cixi gave birth to the emperor's son, known as the Tongzhi Emperor, in 1856. On the emperor's death in 1875, she ousted a group of regents appointed by him and assumed regency over the Tongzhi Emperor. Cixi then consolidated control over the dynasty when, at the death of her Emperor son, contrary to the rules of succession, she installed her nephew as the Guangxu Emperor in 1875. She died a day after Guangxu.

NATAL DATA and ASTROLOGY CHART

BIRTH DATA: CiXi, 29 November 1835, 04:00 (4 a.m.) LMT (-7:45:40), Beijing, China (39n55, 116e25). ASC: 29 Libra. RR: B (from biography). SOURCE: Sy Scholfield (©) quotes Harry Hussey, Venerable Ancestor: The Life and Times of Tz'u Hsi, 1835-1908 (New York: Doubleday, 1949), p. 1: "The place was one of the old sections of the Tatar city of Peking, out near the Hsi Chih Men, the gate in the northwest corner of the city, where the poorer Mongols and Manchus lived. The time was the Double Tenth, the tenth day of the Tenth Moon of the fifteenth year of the reign of Tao Kuang, November 28, 1835, as the Western peoples reckon time. It was the Hour of the Tiger (four o'clock in the morning) ― the hour in in which so many people are born and so many die in China. . . . A child was being born to the Manchu woman and Grandfather Wong was much worried." NB: Hussey seems to have calculated the wrong day, as current references give 29 November. See for example, an online Chinese calendar converter (http://www.asia-home.com/china/sollunar.php) and Marina Warner, The Dragon Empress: Life and Times of Tz'u-hsi 1835-1908 Empress Dowager of China (Random House, 2012): "Tz'u-hsi was born Lan Kuei (Little Orchid) in 1835, on the tenth day of the tenth moon, which fell that year on 29 November."

Katherine Helmond (American film, theatre and television actress)

* Saturn on the Ascendant doesn't give up easily, particularly when acting as the handle of a Bucket shape carrying both luminaries and Pluto in tenacious Cancer. As Hal Erickson sums it up, Katherine Helmond "spent nearly thirty years becoming an overnight success." She worked in New York and regional theatre for two decades, making ends meet as a drama teacher, before her big break came. In 1977, aged in her late 40s, she was cast as Jessica Tate, "the scatterbrained, hedonistic matriarch" on the TV sitcom Soap, remaining with the popular series through its entire run until 1981, and earning herself a Golden Globe. Helmond then returned on the Soap spinoff Benson playing Jessica's ghost. (Even death couldn't stop her in her tracks). Helmond picked up Emmy nominations for her role as Mona Robinson, a liberated grandmother in Who's the Boss (1984-1992), and as Lois Whelan in Everybody Loves Raymond in the 2000s. Now in her 80s, she continues to work, having received acclaim for her stage performance in Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues.

Boxcar Willie, 1931–1999 (American country music singer)

* Country music legend, Boxcar Willie, sold more than 100 million recordings, profiting from his unaspected and tight triple-conjunction of Neptune, Venus and the Sun. Born Lecil Travis Martin, he took his nickname from a boxcar, the North American term for an enclosed railroad freight car typically with a square end. Fittingly, Boxcar Willie had a distinctive Grand Square or "box" pattern in his chart, plus "iron horse" planet Jupiter unaspected in the Sagittarius decan and duad of Leo. Not to mention the Uranus-Moon conjunction in the Sagittarius decan of Aries forming the handle of his Bucket shape. A strong Jupiter and a prominence of Sagittarius can indicate the potential for country music stardom.

WIKIPEDIA BLURB

Boxcar Willie, born as Lecil Travis Martin (September 1, 1931 – April 12, 1999), was an American country music singer, who sang in the "old-time hobo" music style, complete with dirty face, overalls, and a floppy hat. "Boxcar Willie" was originally a character in a ballad he wrote, but he later adopted it as his own stage name.
