In 1503, she married James IV, King of Scots. James died in 1513, and their son became King James V. She married secondly Archibald Douglas, 6th Earl of Angus. Through her first and second marriages, respectively, Margaret was the grandmother of both Mary, Queen of Scots, and Mary's second husband, Lord Darnley. Chris "Orbit" Brown (American magician)

* Chris "Orbit" Brown is a young Californian magician. He invented his first Algorithm when he was 23 after meeting Kim Peek, the original 'rain man.' Brown calls it, “The Rainman Algorithm” — in under 5 seconds after telling him your birthday he can tell you what day you were born on, what day you’ll turn 65, what it will be this year, and what it would have been 100 years prior. Brown presents many of his tricks on YouTube. He has Jupiter, Moon and Sun all in mathematical Pisces, all squared by uncanny Saturn in Sagittarius. The Sun (around which each planet of our star system makes its orbit) rules his Leo Ascendant.

Cixi, 1835-1908 (Chinese Empress Dowager)

* Empress Dowager Cixi was a powerful and charismatic woman who unofficially but effectively controlled the Manchu Qing Dynasty in China for 47 years, from 1861 to her death in 1908. Known as the 'Dragon Lady,' she had Saturn rising in Scorpio (as did 'Iron Lady' Margaret Thatcher). If we take at face value the time of birth of "four o'clock in the morning" given in a biography, then CiXi had 29° Libra rising. And indeed, she was adept at consolidating her political power through the manipulation of her close relations.

An imperial concubine in her adolescence, Cixi gave birth to the emperor's son, known as the Tongzhi Emperor, in 1856. On the emperor's death in 1875, she ousted a group of regents appointed by him and assumed regency over the Tongzhi Emperor. Cixi then consolidated control over the dynasty when, at the death of her Emperor son, contrary to the rules of succession, she installed her nephew as the Guangxu Emperor in 1875. She died a day after Guangxu.

SOURCE: Sy Scholfield (©) quotes Harry Hussey, Venerable Ancestor: The Life and Times of Tz'u Hsi, 1835-1908 (New York: Doubleday, 1949), p. 1: "The place was one of the old sections of the Tatar city of Peking, out near the Hsi Chih Men, the gate in the northwest corner of the city, where the poorer Mongols and Manchus lived. The time was the Double Tenth, the tenth day of the Tenth Moon of the fifteenth year of the reign of Tao Kuang, November 28, 1835, as the Western peoples reckon time. It was the Hour of the Tiger (four o'clock in the morning) ― the hour in in which so many people are born and so many die in China. . . . A child was being born to the Manchu woman and Grandfather Wong was much worried." NB: Hussey seems to have calculated the wrong day, as current references give 29 November. See for example, an online Chinese calendar converter (http://www.asia-home.com/china/sollunar.php) and Marina Warner, The Dragon Empress: Life and Times of Tz'u-hsi 1835-1908 Empress Dowager of China (Random House, 2012): "Tz'u-hsi was born Lan Kuei (Little Orchid) in 1835, on the tenth day of the tenth moon, which fell that year on 29 November."

Harry Nilsson, 1941–1994 (American singer-songwriter)

* Double Grammy Award winner, Harry Nilsson, was a uniquely talented and original singer-songwriter. In the late 1960s and early 1970s when huge concert tours and festivals abounded, Nilsson broke the mould by achieving significant commercial success while shunning live performance and producing masterfully crafted studio recordings. Paul McCartney and John Lennon described him as the Beatles' "favourite group." A gifted composer, Nilsson wrote songs for the Ronettes, the Yardbirds, the Monkees, and more, yet his own biggest hits were almost all written by other songwriters. His producer Richard Perry described him as "the finest white male singer on the planet," but toward the end of his life, Nilsson's career was marked by voice-damaging substance abuse. All these adjectives might describe the Sun in the enigmatic Aquarian decan of paradoxical Gemini — which Nilsson had on the cusp of his 3rd House and at the apex of a T-Square involving an opposition between his Ascendant ruler, Mars in Pisces, and its ruler, musically-inspired but unfortunately all too often drugged-out Neptune.

WIKIPEDIA BLURB

Harry Edward Nilsson III (June 15, 1941 – January 15, 1994) achieved the peak of his commercial success in the early 1970s. On all but his earliest recordings he is credited as Nilsson. He is known for the hit singles "Everybody's Talkin'" (1969), "Without You" (1971), and "Coconut" (1972). Nilsson also wrote the song “One” made famous by the rock band Three Dog Night. He was awarded Grammys for two of his recordings; best male contemporary vocal in 1969 for "Everybody's Talkin'", a prominent song in the Academy Award-winning movie Midnight Cowboy, and best male pop vocal in 1972 for "Without You."

John Horne Burns, 1916–1953 (American writer)

* John Horne Burns had Neptune rising at the very end of the 12th House at 5° Leo (Sabian Symbol: "rock formations at the end of a precipice"), ruling his Pisces Moon on the 8th cusp no less. He lived his life on the edge, too briefly and amidst controversy, and as a writer, transformed many of his darkest experiences into literature (Neptune is ruled by the Sun in conjunction with Mercury in the literary 3rd House). His critically-acclaimed first book, The Gallery (1947), is one of the first novels to unflinchingly depict gay life in the military (Uranus in Aquarius squares his Mars in Scorpio), but it was his only book to earn him praise. Ernest Hemingway summed up Burns' brief life as a writer thus: "There was a fellow who wrote a fine book and then a stinking book about a prep school and then just blew himself up." While ruling his ascending Neptune, Burns' Sun in Libra was itself ruled by Venus in the overly-critical first degree of Virgo in the 1st House. Sadly, he ended his days (and blew his talents) drinking to excess and complaining bitterly of critics, rivals, and both friends and enemies.

WIKIPEDIA BLURB

John Horne Burns (October 7, 1916 – August 11, 1953) was the author of three novels. The first, The Gallery (1947), is his best known work, which was very well received when published and has been reissued several times.

Several publishers rejected The Gallery before Harper & Row published it in June 1947 and it became a best-seller. It depicted life in Allied-occupied North Africa and Naples in 1944 from the perspective of several different characters. Without sentimentality, Burns explored the average man's resentment of the military, his struggle to assert his individuality within the complex war effort, the tension between officers and enlisted men, the psychological effects of dislocation, economic and social inequality between the Americans and those they defeated, the experience of homosexual military personnel, and the popular life of Naples in 1944 under the Allied occupation. The title referred to the Galleria Umberto I, a shopping arcade in Naples through which several of the characters pass. The work was unconventional in structure, comprising portraits of nine characters interspersed with eight recollections narrated by an anonymous American soldier following a route much like the one Burns tracked. Though largely a series of sad and painful vignettes, Burns's narrator manages a modestly positive assessment near the end: "I began to think that something good might be salvaged from the abattoir of the world. Though in the main all national decency and sense of duty mighty be dead, I saw much individual goodness and loveliness that reassured me." In the words of Paul Fussell, "Burns relied on discontinuity, like a sort of prose T.S. Eliot, thus suggesting incoherence as a contemporary social characteristic." Major newspapers and authors including Ernest Hemingway and Edmund Wilson praised it. The Saturday Review called the novel "the best war book of the year".
