Ella Eyre (English singer and songwriter)

* Ella Eyre is best known for her collaborations with Rudimental on their UK number one single "Waiting All Night" (2013), which won the 2014 Brit Award for British Single of the Year, and with DJ Fresh on his single "Gravity" (2015). Her debut EP, Deeper, was released in 2013 and her debut album, Feline, was released in 2015. Eyre's musical influences include Lauryn Hill, Etta James, Basement Jaxx and Hans Zimmer.

Ellen Barkin (American actress and film producer)

* Ellen Barkin's breakthrough role was in the 1982 comedy-drama film Diner, and the following years she had starring roles in films including Tender Mercies (1983), The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984), and The Big Easy (1987).

In 1989, Barkin received positive reviews for her roles in the films Johnny Handsome and Sea of Love. In 1991, for her leading role in comedy film Switch, Barkin received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.

In 1997, Barkin won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her performance in the television film Before Women Had Wings. In 2011, she received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her Broadway debut performance in The Normal Heart. In 2016, Barkin began playing the leading role as Janine "Smurf" Cody in the TNT drama series Animal Kingdom.

John Myers (British radio executive, consultant and presenter)

* John Myers is the Chairman of the UK Radio Academy Awards, Executive Chairman and owner of Myers Media and the former Chair of The Arqiva Commercial radio awards. Myers developed the Century Radio brand for Border Radio Holdings in the early 1990s, launching two more stations later in the decade. He presented programmes under the pseudonym "John Morgan". He then became Chief Executive of GMG Radio, developing the Real Radio, Smooth Radio and Rock Radio brands and overseeing GMG Radio's acquisition of the Century network from GCap Media. He served as Chief Executive of The Radio Academy from April 2011 until June 2012.

In 2009, he was asked by the Labour Government to produce a report on the future of local radio in the UK ("The Myers Report") which was published by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in April 2009. A number of his recommendations were taken up by the Digital Economy Act 2010, leading to, amongst others, mergers within the Heart and Smooth Radio networks. Myers reviewed efficiencies at four BBC radio stations during the first quarter of 2011 and, in late 2011, began reviewing BBC Local Radio stations in response to the Delivering Quality First cuts.

He is currently chairman of TeamRock, a new worldwide content and distribution business based in London and Glasgow.

J. Alexander, AKA Miss J (American model, reality TV personality and runway coach)

* J. Alexander (AKA Miss J) is best known for his work on television program America's Next Top Model. He travels extensively for the fashion and modelling industries, and currently lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As a teenager he turned to modelling when he met the president of Elite Model Management, Monique Pillard. Pillard was so impressed with his look that she signed him to her agency, and he walked for designer Jean Paul Gaultier in New York City. Alexander met Tyra Banks backstage at a runway show, and he began to give her walking lessons. Banks coined Alexander's title "Queen of the Catwalk".

He has been coaching and casting models since 1991, including supermodel Naomi Campbell and model Kimora Lee Simmons. He has helped with casting and coaching models for well-known designers such as Hervé Léger, Bill Blass, Valentino, John Galliano, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, and Nina Ricci.

Alexander is openly gay and has a son named Boris. Both Alexander and his ex-boyfriend donated sperm to a French lesbian who wanted a child, and Alexander's ex is the biological father. Alexander has said that he has a "very active role" in Boris' life.

"Binnie" Barnes, 1903–1998 (English-American actress)

* Binnie Barnes's career in films spanned fifty years, from 1923 to 1973. She appeared most notably in The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933) as Katherine Howard, Henry's fifth wife. Later her career continued in Hollywood. She married American film producer Mike Frankovich, a Roman Catholic, for whom she converted to Catholicism, and later became a naturalized United States citizen. The couple adopted three children. Barnes died on 27 July 1998, aged 95, in Beverly Hills, California.

Elizabeth Ann MacGregor (Scottish-Australian art museum director)

* Elizabeth Ann (AKA Liz Ann) MacGregor is the director of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Sydney, Australia (located at Circular Quay overlooking the Sydney Opera House).

MacGregor started her career in the arts by training as an art historian at Edinburgh University before joining the Arts Council of Great Britain in 1985. In 1989 she was appointed director of the Ikon Gallery, a contemporary arts institution in Birmingham.

In 1999, she took up the directorship of the MCA, introducing free admission and subsequently doubling attendance numbers. She also oversaw the redevelopment of the MCA building, increasing its size and internationalising the scope of exhibitions.

MacGregor's chart shows enormous personal drive: both luminaries in Aries; Scorpio Ascendant ruled by Pluto in the last degree of dramatic Leo on a workaholic Virgo MC: "She is known for her determination, tenacious work ethic and colourful wardrobe."

Ross Ulbricht (American founder of internet black market Silk Road)

* Ross Ulbricht, also known by his online alias, Dread Pirate Roberts, is the former owner and manager of the online marketplace Silk Road and its successor darknet markets. In October 2013, he was arrested and accused of being the manager of the Silk Road website, though he denies this. Ulbricht faced charges of money laundering, computer hacking, conspiracy to traffic narcotics, and procuring murder; though the murder charges were later dropped. In June 2015 Ulbricht was convicted of the charges and given a life sentence.

He has subversive, underground, "darknet" and "black market" Pluto in Scorpio as the final dispositor of his chart. If Chiron is included in the delineation, Pluto drives the locomotive shape of his chart, pushing Saturn in Scorpio first, and unaspected Mars in Scorpio (an alternative, traditional final dispositor) second.

George Takei (American "Star Trek" actor, social media star, human rights activist)

* With his Aquarian Ascendant ruled by a virtually unaspected Uranus, George Takei embodies the Uranian spirit of science fiction culture, internet media, humanitarian politics and a unique sense of humour. Moreover, Mars in Sagittarius on his MC rules his Sun in the last degree of Aries, making him an outspoken pioneer and successful leader in these fields.

Takei is most widely known for his role as Lieutenant Sulu, helmsman of the spaceship Enterprise in the sci-fi TV series Star Trek (1966-1969) and six Star Trek feature films (1979-1991). Today he is a regular on the science fiction convention circuit throughout the world.

Takei came out publicly as gay in October 2005. In 2006, he embarked on a nationwide "Equality Trek" speaking tour sharing his life as a gay Japanese American, his 18-year relationship with (his now-husband) Brad Altman, and experiences on Star Trek, encouraging others to share their own personal stories. In 2008, Takei and Altman became the first same-sex couple to apply for a marriage licence in West Hollywood, and they were married on 14 September 2008.

Takei joined Facebook in 2011 and today his daily posts of humorous pictures (many of which are related to sci-fi, gay culture and political satire) have attracted over 8 million followers, such that he has been lauded as "the funniest guy on Facebook."

On his website, Takei declares: "My name is George Takei. Some know me as Mr. Sulu but I hope all know me as a believer in, and a fighter for, the equality and dignity of all human beings." Astrologically, his words and actions reveal him as a herald of the Age of Aquarius.

Renato Russo, 1960-1996 (Brazilian singer, songwriter, musician)

* Renato Russo was born right on an Aries New Moon with both luminaries aspected by Jupiter, Neptune and Pluto. His first band, the punk rock group with the Plutonic name "Aborto Elétrico" (Electric Abortion) eventually split into two different bands: "Capital Inicial" and "Legião Urbana". Under Russo's leadership and the good fortune of his Jupiter and Neptune, Legião Urbana sold around 20 million albums during Russo's lifetime.

Grayson Perry (English artist)

* Grayson Perry, CBE, is known mainly for his ceramic vases and cross-dressing. Perry's vases have classical forms and are decorated in bright colours, depicting subjects at odds with their attractive appearance. There is a strong autobiographical element in his work, in which images of Perry as "Claire", his female alter-ego, often appear. He was awarded the Turner Prize in 2003, the first time it was given to a ceramic artist. He attended the award ceremony dressed as Claire, wearing a little girl party frock. Perry has Taurus rising, ruled by Venus in Pisces in the offbeat 11th House. Double-identity Mercury is conjunct his Venus and both are ruled and trined by Neptune in Scorpio on the Descendant, explaining the sexually explicit content of much of his work.

Bill Hughes (American jazz trombonist and bandleader)

* Bill Hughes was born in Dallas, Texas, and his family moved to Washington, D.C., when he was nine years old. Hughes has spent most of his career with the Count Basie Orchestra and was the director of that ensemble from 2003 until September 2010.

Hughes has Neptune in the 12th House, conjunct his Ascendant and ruling his Mars and Moon in Pisces.

Lefty Frizzell, 1928-1975 (American country music singer, songwriter)

* Lefty Frizzell was an American country music singer and songwriter of the 1950s, and a proponent of honky tonk music. His relaxed style of singing was an influence on later stars Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, George Jones and John Fogerty. He is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Frizzell had C&W Sagittarius rising, with the Sun conjunct its ruler, Jupiter.

Morty Corb, 1917—1996 (American jazz double-bassist)

* Morty Corb had a long career as a jazz musician that began in 1946 and lasted until his death. Corb performed for four years on Bob Crosby's television program. He also did extended work as a session musician in studios, and though he did little of this after the 1950s, he appears on some 300 recordings. He worked in bands in Disneyland after moving to California in 1947, and recorded his only album as a leader, Strictly from Dixie, in 1957. Corb was fascinated by Halloween and, from 1973, decked his house out with detailed, elaborate decorations. He incorporated some of what he had learned about special effects from the Disney studios, and continued to construct ever more ornate designs each year up until his death of a brain aneurysm in 1996.

Juke Boy Bonner, 1932–1978 (American blues singer, harmonica player, and guitarist)

* Juke Boy Bonner was influenced by Lightnin' Hopkins, Jimmy Reed, and Slim Harpo. He described the bleak prospects of black urban existence in songs like "Life is a Nightmare", "Struggle Here in Houston" and "Going Back to the Country", accompanying himself on guitar, harmonica and drums in the self-sufficient one-man band mode of Joe Hill Louis and Dr. Ross.

Bonner had Pluto in the 1st House in close trine with Mars in Pisces on the MC.

Louie Spence (English dance expert, choreographer, television personality)

* Louie Spence is best known as the artistic director at the Pineapple Dance Studios. He was a professional dancer in his youth, performing in West End musicals including Cats and Closer to Heaven, although more recently, he has become known for his appearances in the Sky1 series Louie Spence's Showbusiness and appearing as a judge on the seventh series of Dancing on Ice.

Which are the dancing planets? Certainly Neptune — which rises in its own house in Spence's chart and rules his IC in the last degree of Pisces. And probably Jupiter — here ruling his Sagittarius Ascendant from the last degree of Virgo smack-bang on the MC.

Peter Capaldi (Scottish actor and film director)

* It was announced on Sunday that Peter Capaldi will soon star in the new series of the British science fiction TV programme, Doctor Who, portraying the twelfth incarnation of the Doctor. Capaldi currently has Solar Arc Uranus high in the sky in the first degree of Libra, ruling his SA Saturn in Aquarius, which, in turn, is ruling the first degree of Capricorn on his SA Ascendant. Peter Dougan Capaldi (born 14 April 1958) has had a large number of roles in film and television, and is maybe best known for his role as Malcolm Tucker in the BBC comedy series The Thick of It and its follow-up film In the Loop. In 1995, he won the Academy Award for Live Action Short Film for Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life, which he directed. He has also won a BAFTA Award, a Chlotrudis Award and two British Comedy Awards. Ben Webster, 1909-1973 (American musician)

* Ben Webster ― the influential American jazz tenor saxophonist nicknamed "Frog" ― had musical Neptune rising in the amphibious Scorpio decan of Cancer. Also known affectionately as "The Brute," he had the first degree of Aries on his MC plus a Sun-Saturn conjunction in Mars's sign.

Benjamin Francis Webster (March 27, 1909 – September 20, 1973) was considered one of the three most important "swing tenors" along with Coleman Hawkins and Lester Young. Known affectionately as "The Brute", he had a tough, raspy, and brutal tone on stomps (with his own distinctive growls), yet on ballads he played with warmth and sentiment. Stylistically he was indebted to alto star Johnny Hodges, who, he said, taught him to play his instrument.

Charles Angrand, 1854–1926 (French artist)

* Charles Angrand, known for his "muted palette" had a Venus-Neptune conjunction in Pisces.

Charles Angrand (19 April 1854 – 1 April 1926) was a French artist who gained renown for his Neo-Impressionist paintings and drawings. He was an important member of the Parisian avant-garde art scene in the late 1880s and early 1890s.

Angrand's implementation of Pointillist techniques differed from that of some of its leading proponents. He painted with a more muted palette than Seurat and Signac, who used bright contrasting colours. As seen in Couple in the street, Angrand used dots of various colours to enhance shadows and provide the proper tone, while avoiding the violent colouration found in many other Neo-Impressionist works.
