Hank Williams Jr., AKA Bocephus (American singer-songwriter and musician)

* Hank Williams Jr.'s musical style is often considered a blend of Southern rock, blues, and traditional country. He is the son of legendary country music singer Hank Williams and the father of Hank Williams III, Holly Williams, Hilary Williams, Samuel Williams, and Katie Williams.

Williams began his career by following in his famed father's footsteps, singing his father's songs and imitating his father's style. Williams's own style slowly evolved as he struggled to find his own voice and place within the country music industry. This trend was interrupted by a near-fatal fall off the side of Ajax Peak in Montana on 8 August 1975. After an extended recovery, he challenged the country music establishment with a blend of country, rock, and blues. Williams enjoyed much success in the 1980s, from which he earned considerable recognition and popularity both inside and outside the country music industry.

As a multi-instrumentalist, Williams's repertoire of skills include guitar, bass guitar, upright bass, steel guitar, banjo, dobro, piano, keyboards, harmonica, fiddle, and drums.

Buster Keaton, 1895–1966 (American actor, vaudevillian, comedian, filmmaker, stunt performer, writer)

* "Buster" Keaton was best known for his silent films, in which his trademark was physical comedy with a consistently stoic, deadpan expression, earning him the nickname "The Great Stone Face."

Critic Roger Ebert wrote of Keaton's "extraordinary period from 1920 to 1929, [when] he worked without interruption on a series of films that make him, arguably, the greatest actor-director in the history of the movies."

His career declined afterward with a dispiriting loss of his artistic independence when he was hired by MGM, which resulted in a crippling alcoholism that ruined his family life. However, he recovered in the 1940s, remarried and revived his career to a degree as an honored comic performer for the rest of his life, earning an Academy Honorary Award in 1958.

Keaton died of lung cancer on 1 February 1966, aged 70, in Woodland Hills, California.

Daisy & Violet Hilton, 1908–1969, (English conjoined twins, jazz musicians, performers)

* Daisy & Violet, the conjoined Hilton sisters, had Pluto on the MC in the sign of The Twins and a Sun-Chiron conjunction in the Gemini decan of Aquarius. The Ascendant is around the last degree of Virgo quincunxed by Mercury in Pisces: unwanted by their mother, an unmarried barmaid named Kate Skinner, the sisters were brought up by her boss, Mary Hilton, who trained them to sing and dance, and toured them across the globe while privately subjecting them to abuse. The twins were exploited ruthlessly throughout much of their lives (Neptune on the North Node is ruled by Moon in Aries), but they continually struggled for their dignity and autonomy (Saturn and Pluto are angular while Uranus conjoins the South Node).

WIKIPEDIA BLURB

Daisy Hilton and Violet Hilton (5 February 1908 – ?? January 1969) were a pair of conjoined twins or Siamese Twins who toured in the U.S. sideshow and vaudeville circuit in the 1930s. They were the first to be born in the United Kingdom conjoined and to survive for more than a few weeks.

The Hilton sisters toured first in Britain at the age of three as "The United Twins". Their mother Mary Hilton took them on a tour through Germany, Australia and to the USA. In true sideshow manner, their performance was accompanied by an imaginative "history". Their controllers kept all the money the sisters earned. In 1926 Bob Hope formed an act called the Dancemedians with the Hilton Sisters, who had a tap dancing routine.

When Mary died in Birmingham, Alabama, her daughter and her husband took over. They kept the twins from public view for a while and trained them in jazz music. They lived in a mansion in San Antonio, Texas until the early 1930s.

In 1931, the sisters gathered enough courage to sue their managers, gaining freedom from their contract and US$100,000 in damages. They left the sideshows and went into vaudeville as "The Hilton Sisters' Revue". Daisy dyed her hair blonde and they began to wear different outfits so they could be told apart. They had numerous affairs, failed attempts to get a marriage license and a couple of short marriages. In 1932, the twins appeared as themselves in the film Freaks. In 1951 they starred in Chained for Life, an exploitation film loosely based on their lives.

The Hiltons' last public appearance was in 1961 at a drive-in cinema in Charlotte, North Carolina. Their tour manager abandoned them there, and with no means of transportation or income, they were forced to take a job in a nearby grocery store. On 4 January 1969, after they failed to report to work, their boss called the police. The twins were found dead in their home, victims of the Hong Kong flu. According to a forensic investigation, Daisy died first; Violet died between two and four days later.

Gabrielle Renard, 1878–1959 (French nanny, artist's model)

* In this painting by Auguste Renoir, Gabrielle Renard plays with his son Jean. As both nanny and artist's model, Renard here embodies her Venus in Cancer - which rises in her chart and conjuncts the horizon of Jean Renoir's chart. Gabrielle and Jean not only shared the same Ascendant sign, they shared a lifelong bond. Her Moon is on his IC: their bond was nurtured by her loving influence over him. She took the young Jean to see his first movie. One day he would become an acclaimed filmmaker.

See their data and charts below.

WIKIPEDIA BLURB

Gabrielle Renard (August 1, 1878 – February 26, 1959) was a French woman who became an important member of the family of the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, first becoming a nanny and subsequently, a frequent model for the artist. Upon her marriage in 1921 she became Gabrielle Renard-Slade.

Born in Essoyes in the Aube departement of France, she was a cousin of Aline Victorine Charigot Renoir, who had married the painter, Pierre-Auguste. The village was the birthplace of Aline also. At age sixteen, Gabrielle Renard moved to Montmartre to live and work as a nanny in her cousin's household, where the second of the three Renoir sons was about to be born. Renard became the subject of a number of Renoir's portraits, many of her with the children.

Gabrielle Renard developed a strong bond with the infant, Jean Renoir, that would last throughout their lives. She introduced him to the Guignol puppet shows that were held in the Montmartre. Gabrielle was fascinated by the new motion picture invention and when Jean Renoir was only a few years old, Gabrielle took him to see his first film. He became a renowned film maker.

Ray Manzarek, 1939-2013 (American musician, singer, producer, film director, writer)

* The Doors' keyboardist, Ray Manzarek, has his Sagittarius Ascendant conjunct Jim Morrison's Sun, while Morrison's Aquarius Ascendant was conjunct Manzarek's Sun. The two men co-founded the legendary band in 1965.

Raymond Daniel Manczarek, Jr., known as Ray Manzarek (born February 12, 1939), is an American musician, singer, producer, film director, writer, and co-founder and keyboardist of The Doors from 1965 to 1973, Nite City from 1977–1978 and Manzarek-Krieger since 2001.

In 1962–1965, he studied in the Department of Cinematography at UCLA, where he met film student Jim Morrison. Forty days after finishing film school, thinking they had gone their separate ways, Manzarek and Morrison met by chance on Venice Beach in California. Morrison said he had written some songs, and Manzarek expressed an interest in hearing them, whereupon Morrison sang a rough version of "Moonlight Drive." Manzarek liked the songs and co-founded the Doors with Morrison at that moment.

The Doors lacked a bassist, so Manzarek usually played the bass parts on a Fender Rhodes piano. His signature sound is that of the Vox Continental combo organ, an instrument used by many other psychedelic rock bands of the era.

Charles E. Burchfield, 1893-1967 (American painter, watercolourist)

* On his 18th birthday, Charles E. Burchfield wrote in his diary: "Eighteen years ago, a calamity befell this family—a squalling calamity—eighteen years ago on a Sunday, I was born—at six o'clock in the evening." Recently described as "the mystic, cryptic painter of transcendental landscapes, trees with telekinetic halos, and haunted houses emanating ectoplasmic auras," he fittingly had Pluto closely conjunct Neptune and Pluto quincunx and ruling Uranus in Scorpio.

Charles Ephraim Burchfield (April 9, 1893 - January 10, 1967) was an American painter and visionary artist, known for his passionate watercolors of nature scenes and townscapes. The largest collection of Burchfield's paintings, archives and journals are in the collection of the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, New York. His paintings are in the collections of many major museums in the USA and have been the subject of exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hammer Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art, as well as other prominent institutions.

Jacob Schiff, 1847-1920 (Banker, businessman, philanthropist)

* A transcription of Jacob Schiff's birth record includes a birth time of five o'clock in the morning.

Jacob Henry Schiff (born Jakob Heinrich Schiff; January 10, 1847 – September 25, 1920) was an American banker, businessman, and philanthropist. He helped finance, among many other things, the Japanese military efforts against Tsarist Russia in the Russo-Japanese War.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Schiff migrated to the United States after the Civil war, and joined the firm Kuhn, Loeb & Co. From his base on Wall Street, he was the foremost Jewish leader from 1880 to 1920 in what later became known as the "Schiff era", grappling with all major Jewish issues and problems of the day, including the plight of Russian Jews under the Tsar, American and international anti-semitism, care of needy Jewish immigrants, and the rise of Zionism. He also became the director of many important corporations, including the National City Bank of New York, Equitable Life Assurance Society, Wells Fargo & Company, and the Union Pacific Railroad. In many of his interests he was associated with E.H. Harriman.

Lance Bass (New Astrology Data and Chart)

* The birth time of openly-gay American former pop star, Lance Bass, is 1:20pm according to an unofficial biography. He states his full birth name, James Lance Bass, in his autobiography Out of Sync.

Lance Bass is an American pop singer, dancer, actor, film and television producer, and author. He grew up in Mississippi and rose to fame as the bass singer for the American pop boy band 'N Sync. 'N Sync's success led Bass to work in film and television. He starred in the 2001 film On the Line, which his company, Bacon & Eggs, also produced. Bass later formed a second production company, Lance Bass Productions, as well as a now-defunct music management company, Free Lance Entertainment, a joint venture with Mercury Records.

Read more from his Wikipedia biography.

HOROSCOPE NOTES

The space-age planet Uranus is prominent in Bass's chart: appearing on his Scorpio IC in hard aspect with both luminaries. Bass moved to Star City, Russia, in 2002 and was certified by both NASA and the Russian Space Program after several months of cosmonaut training. However, his plan to join the TMA-1 mission to the International Space Station was unsuccessful after his financial sponsors backed out. Although his lifelong dream of space travel has been thwarted to date, in a 2007 interview with GQ magazine, Bass stated that he "absolutely" still intends on going to space, and that he hopes to work on a space documentary. With his angular Uranus in Scorpio (and unaspected Jupiter) he's unlikely to give up his space exploration plans anytime soon. Particularly because his Uranus is ruled by Pluto at the head of a Kite pattern: this guy just wants to fly, deeply, high and wide.

Bass came out as gay in a cover story for People magazine dated 26 July 2006. TR Moon crossed his ascendant that night and TR Uranus was conjunct his South Node. TR Neptune was opposite his Moon.
