Buster Keaton, 1895–1966 (American actor, vaudevillian, comedian, filmmaker, stunt performer, writer)

* "Buster" Keaton was best known for his silent films, in which his trademark was physical comedy with a consistently stoic, deadpan expression, earning him the nickname "The Great Stone Face."

Critic Roger Ebert wrote of Keaton's "extraordinary period from 1920 to 1929, [when] he worked without interruption on a series of films that make him, arguably, the greatest actor-director in the history of the movies."

His career declined afterward with a dispiriting loss of his artistic independence when he was hired by MGM, which resulted in a crippling alcoholism that ruined his family life. However, he recovered in the 1940s, remarried and revived his career to a degree as an honored comic performer for the rest of his life, earning an Academy Honorary Award in 1958.

Keaton died of lung cancer on 1 February 1966, aged 70, in Woodland Hills, California.

Casey Wilson (American actress, comedian, screenwriter)

* Casey Wilson has a rare Slingshot shape in her chart (All the planets are in less that 120° of the circle - actually less than 90° - except for a conjunction of Moon-Chiron in Taurus which is practically unaspected bar an opposition with Mercury in Scorpio). Wilson has laugh-out-loud Jupiter (in the 9th, the house of comedy) conjunct Saturn, ruler of her Capricorn Ascendant. She excels as a comedian, having shot to fame with a two-season stint as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2009. She was the first SNL cast member to have been born in the 1980s. Her most memorable work on SNL included celebrity impressions of Rachael Ray, Elizabeth Dole, Elizabeth Taylor, Katy Perry, Jennifer Aniston (and so on), as well as sexed-up original characters such as Dusty Velvet, "the paralyzed stripper" and Toni Ward, co-host of "The Cougar Den."

Stephen Fry (English comedian, actor, writer, presenter)

* With a very close and very powerful conjunction of the Sun and Pluto on his 29° Leo Ascendant, Stephen Fry holds sway over the masses. An acclaimed comedian, he has won an Emmy, his books are bestsellers and he wields considerable influence through Twitter, having over four million followers. On the flipside, he has bipolar disorder and has attempted suicide on a number of occasions. Humour is perhaps his greatest asset, while the sextile from Neptune in the first degree of Scorpio to his tight triple conjunction is his saving grace.

Damita Jo DeBlanc, 1930–1998 (American actress, comedian, lounge music performer)

* Damita Jo DeBlanc was the featured vocalist on recordings from Steve Gibson and the Red Caps during the 1950s. Credited as simply Damita Jo, DeBlanc had some chart success in the early 1960s with two answer songs: 1960's "I'll Save the Last Dance for You" (an answer to "Save the Last Dance for Me") and 1961's "I'll Be There" (an answer to "Stand By Me"). Both songs were originally sung by Ben E. King and made the R&B top 20, and "I'll Be There" also reached number 12 on the pop chart. In 1966 she had a minor hit with a cover of the Jacques Brel song "If You Go Away." She worked with Ray Charles, Count Basie, and Lionel Hampton. And, in 1963, she released a recording for Mercury Records with Billy Eckstine and Bobby Tucker Orchestra. Damita Jo was later involved in comedy and toured with Redd Foxx. In 1998, she suffered a respiratory illness and died on Christmas Day in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jay Mohr (American actor, stand-up comedian, radio host)

* Jay Mohr ― the stand-up comedian who has written about his battle with panic attacks in his book, Gasping for Airtime ― has an exact conjunction of Mercury and Pluto in Virgo in semi-sextile with his MC and quincunx his IC. His social anxiety may also have stemmed from the Sun in the first degree of Virgo square the Moon in the first degree of Gemini, particularly considering his Mercury-Pluto aspects.
