Pluto conjunct Moon plus three planets in Scorpio indeed!

UPDATE: Robert Millar (Scottish road racing cyclist)

* Robert Millar won the "King of the Mountains" competition in the 1984 Tour de France and finished fourth overall. Millar was the first rider from an English speaking country to have won the Mountains classification in the Tour de France. This success was the first time a British rider won a major Tour classification, and was unsurpassed as the highest Tour finish for a Briton until Bradley Wiggins was retrospectively placed third in the 2009 Tour de France. He is one of only four Britons to have won a Tour de France jersey competition along with Wiggins, Chris Froome and Mark Cavendish. He rode the Tour de France eleven times completing the race eight times.

His biography states he was born at 6:15 AM (no source given) but Caroline Gerard kindly looked up his birth entry in the registry which states 6:15 PM. Both sets of data and charts are displayed below. Either way, Millar is at least a quintuple Virgo - with both luminaries plus three planets in this sign. (Ironically, his biography is subtitled "Unravelling the Mystery Surrounding Britain's Most Successful Tour de France Cyclist" yet this book leaves the reader wondering if "AM" is a typo or not, and if not, the exact nature of the source of this info).

Nate Berkus (American interior designer, author, TV personality)

* Nate Berkus runs the Chicago interior design firm Nate Berkus Associates and was a regularly featured guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, offering design advice to viewers, as well as coordinating surprise make-overs for people's homes. He has released numerous lines of products, and authored several books. His own show, The Nate Berkus Show, screened from 2010 to 2012.

Berkus is Jewish, and openly gay. In December 2004, he and his partner, photographer Fernando Bengoechea, were vacationing at a beach resort in Sri Lanka when the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami hit. While Berkus survived, Bengoechea is missing and presumed dead.

Berkus became engaged to Jeremiah Brent in April 2013 and they were married on 3 May 2014 in New York City. They were the first same-sex couple to be featured in ads for InStyle and Rolling Stone, among other magazines. Berkus announced on 25 March 2015, that the couple's daughter via surrogate, Poppy Brent-Berkus, was born on 23 March.

NATAL DATA and ASTROLOGY CHART

SOURCE: Sy Scholfield quotes "Triple! Virgo" handwritten by Berkus as his "Zodiac sign" in a questionionnaire published online on 30 November 2014. Date and place from the California birth index. Because he has 5 planets in Virgo presumably he means that his Sun, Moon and Ascendant are in Virgo. A speculative time of 6am gives mid Virgo rising.

Philip Levine, 1928–2015 (Pulitzer Prize-winning American poet)

* Philip Levine died last Saturday morning (14 February 2015). I cannot find a precise time of birth for him, yet the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet writes in his poem "Let Me Begin Again" that he was born at night. A speculative birth time of 9 p.m. puts poetic Neptune at the end of the 12th House on the Ascendant alongside the Moon just into the 1st House.
NATAL DATA and ASTROLOGY CHART

BIRTH DATA: 10 January 1928, about 21:00 (9 PM) EST (+5), Detroit, Michigan, USA (42n20, 83w03). ASC: About 3 Virgo. RR: C (Rectified from approximate time). SOURCE: Sy Scholfield notes that in his poem "Let Me Begin Again" Levine infers that he was born at night: "1/10’28. Tonight I shall enter my life / after being at sea for ages, quietly, / in a hospital named for an automobile."

Note: He was born at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. The time of 9pm is speculative.

George Takei (American "Star Trek" actor, social media star, human rights activist)

* With his Aquarian Ascendant ruled by a virtually unaspected Uranus, George Takei embodies the Uranian spirit of science fiction culture, internet media, humanitarian politics and a unique sense of humour. Moreover, Mars in Sagittarius on his MC rules his Sun in the last degree of Aries, making him an outspoken pioneer and successful leader in these fields.

Takei is most widely known for his role as Lieutenant Sulu, helmsman of the spaceship Enterprise in the sci-fi TV series Star Trek (1966-1969) and six Star Trek feature films (1979-1991). Today he is a regular on the science fiction convention circuit throughout the world.

Takei came out publicly as gay in October 2005. In 2006, he embarked on a nationwide "Equality Trek" speaking tour sharing his life as a gay Japanese American, his 18-year relationship with (his now-husband) Brad Altman, and experiences on Star Trek, encouraging others to share their own personal stories. In 2008, Takei and Altman became the first same-sex couple to apply for a marriage licence in West Hollywood, and they were married on 14 September 2008.

Takei joined Facebook in 2011 and today his daily posts of humorous pictures (many of which are related to sci-fi, gay culture and political satire) have attracted over 8 million followers, such that he has been lauded as "the funniest guy on Facebook."

On his website, Takei declares: "My name is George Takei. Some know me as Mr. Sulu but I hope all know me as a believer in, and a fighter for, the equality and dignity of all human beings." Astrologically, his words and actions reveal him as a herald of the Age of Aquarius.

John Lydon (English singer, songwriter, musician, visual artist)

* In his 2014 autobiography Anger Is an Energy: My Life Uncensored, John Lydon (formerly Johnny Rotten, lead singer of punk band the Sex Pistols) writes "I was born in the early wee hours of the 31st, in the bitterly cold January of 1956." A speculative time of 3 a.m. puts the last degree of icy Scorpio on the ascendant, ruled by sex/pistol Pluto high in the sky. "Anger is an Energy" is a keyword phrase for Mars-Saturn in Sagittarius on the ascendant and North Node. And the Moon on the MC in the 10th (using Equal or Placidus Houses) bespeaks the name of his post-punk band, Public Image Ltd (PiL).
NATAL DATA and ASTROLOGY CHART

BIRTH DATA: John Joseph Lydon, 31 January 1956, 03:00 (3AM) GMT (+0), London, England (51n30, 0w10). ASC: 29 Scorpio. RR: C (rectified from approximate time). SOURCE: Sy Scholfield quotes from "Anger Is an Energy: My Life Uncensored" by John Lydon (Simon & Schuster, 2014): "I was born in the early wee hours of the 31st, in the bitterly cold January of 1956."

David Pogue (American technology writer, TV science presenter)

* David Pogue is a personal technology columnist for Yahoo Tech, a tech correspondent for CBS News Sunday Morning, a columnist for Scientific American and a former technology columnist for The New York Times. Venus in techno-savvy Aquarius rules his Taurus Ascendant. Pogue has written or co-written seven books in the For Dummies series (including Macintosh computers, magic, opera, and classical music). These books all have Neptunian themes: Pogue's angular Neptune rules and trines his Sun-Jupiter conjunction in Pisces. Perhaps Mercury in the first degree of Pisces explains his interest in numerology.
NATAL DATA and ASTROLOGY CHART

BIRTH DATA: David Welch Pogue, 9 March 1963, 09:09 (9:09 AM) EST (+5), Shaker Heights, Ohio, USA (41n28, 81w32). ASC: 14 Taurus. RR: A (from memory). SOURCE: Sy Scholfield quotes from "The World According to Twitter" by David Pogue (Black Dog & Leventhal, 2009), p. 31: "Actually, the numerology coincidences revealed in my question is only part of the story. I was born at 9:09 a.m. on March 9, 1963 (note that 6 + 3 = 9). I weighed 9 pounds, 9 ounces. My parents had been married 9 years."

Euel Box (American music producer, composer, arranger, and trumpeter)

* Euel Box has written major film scores and radio jingles for major markets. For the composition of "Benji," Box and his wife earned a 1975 nomination for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe award for best song.

Mercury in Capricorn rules Box's Gemini Ascendant, indicating success as a writer/composer.

Tex Beneke, 1914–2000 (American saxophonist, singer, and bandleader)

* Tex Beneke's career is a history of associations with bandleader Glenn Miller and former musicians and singers who worked with Miller. His band is also associated with the careers of Eydie Gorme, Henry Mancini and Ronnie Deauville. Beneke also solos on the recording the Glenn Miller Orchestra made of their popular song "In The Mood" and sings on another popular Glenn Miller recording, "Chattanooga Choo Choo". Jazz critic Will Friedwald considers Beneke to be one of the major blues singers who sang with the big bands of the early 1940s. "One of the major blues singers"?? That's Saturn rising in Gemini ruled by Mercury in Pisces talking!

John Hillerman (American actor)

* John Hillerman is probably best remembered for his role as former British Army Sergeant Major Jonathan Quayle Higgins III ("Higgins") on the American TV series Magnum, P.I. (1980–1988). The Texas-born Hillerman learned to do the upper-class English accent of Higgins by watching and listening to the performances of Laurence Olivier (Hillerman and Olivier both have Gemini rising and their Moons in Virgo). Hillerman co-starred with Tom Selleck in Magnum, P.I.. Selleck's Uranus is smack-bang on Hillerman's Ascendant.

Nancy Gates (American film and TV actress)

* Nancy Gates starred or co-starred in 34 films and serials, many of which were westerns or sci-fi movies, with her in the leading role as the heroine. She also made a total of 55 television appearances. The Sun and Neptune are the planets most associated with acting. Gates has the Sun on her MC, conjunct Jupiter and conjunct Mercury, the latter ruling her Gemini Ascendant. The Sun rules Neptune in Leo on her IC.

Edward Everett Horton, 1886–1970 (American character actor)

* Edward Everett Horton — best known to the Babyboomers and Gen-Xers as the venerable narrator of the "Fractured Fairy Tales" segment in the animated cartoon TV series, The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show (1959-1964) — had Mars and Mercury each devoid of Ptolemaic aspects while in mutual reception (yet separated by a wide-orbed and fracturing quincunx).

Jupiter (ruler of his Sagittarius Ascendant) was conjunct Uranus and the MC and opposite the Sun in Pisces — a great combination for a character actor.

WIKIPEDIA BLURB

Edward Everett Horton (March 18, 1886 – September 29, 1970) had a long career in film, theater, radio, television and voice work for animated cartoons. He is especially known for his work in the films of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

Horton starred in many comedy features in the 1930s, usually playing a mousy fellow who put up with domestic or professional problems to a certain point, and then finally asserted himself for a happy ending. He is best known, however, for his work as a character actor in supporting roles. Some of his noteworthy films include The Front Page (1931), Trouble in Paradise (1932), Alice in Wonderland (1933), The Gay Divorcee (1934), Top Hat (1935, one of several Astaire/Rogers films in which Horton appeared), Danger - Love at Work (1937), Lost Horizon (1937), Holiday (1938), Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941), Arsenic and Old Lace (1944), Pocketful of Miracles (1961), It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), and Sex and the Single Girl (1964).

In 1962, he portrayed the character 'Uncle Ned' in three episodes of the CBS television series Dennis the Menace. In 1965, he played the medicine man, Roaring Chicken, in the ABC sitcom F Troop. He parodied this role, portraying "Chief Screaming Chicken" on ABC's Batman as a pawn to Vincent Price's Egghead in the villain's attempt to take control of Gotham City.

"Doc" Watson, 1923–2012 (American musician, songwriter)

* "Doc" Watson had accomplished Saturn in Libra on his Ascendant in mutual reception with musical Venus in Capricorn. He won seven Grammy awards as well as a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Libra is an air sign associated with stringed instruments. Watson is widely acknowledged as a guitar icon, particularly for his masterly flatpicking skills, i.e. plucking his guitar with a triangle-shaped plectrum. He has a triangular Grand Water Trine involving a twangy Sun-Uranus conjunction in Pisces, Jupiter in Scorpio and its ruler Pluto in Cancer on the MC.

WIKIPEDIA BLURB

Arthel Lane "Doc" Watson (March 3, 1923 – May 29, 2012) was an American guitarist, songwriter and singer of bluegrass, folk, country, blues and gospel music. Watson's flatpicking skills and knowledge of traditional American music are highly regarded. He performed with his son Merle for over 15 years until Merle's death in 1985 in an accident on the family farm.

NATAL DATA and ASTROLOGY CHART

BIRTH DATA: Arthel [Orthel] Lane Watson, 3 March 1923, 21:00 (9 p.m.) EST (+5), Deep Gap, North Carolina, USA (36n14, 81w32). ASC: 15 Libra. RR: B (from biography). SOURCE: Sy Scholfield (©) quotes Kent Gustavson and Kristina Tosic, Blind But Now I See: The Biography of Music Legend Doc Watson (Blooming Twig Books, 2012): "Arthel Lane Watson was born on March 3rd, 1923, at 9 o'clock on a Tuesday evening. . . . The town nearest to Doc's family home was Deep Gap, only a few miles up the road." NB: Actually it was a Saturday. Gustavson writes that "Orthel Lane Watson" - a misspelling of his name - is written on his birth certificate, so the birth data possibly comes from this document.
