Lee Atwater, 1951-1991 (American political consultant)

* Lee Atwater was a strategist to the Republican Party. He was an adviser to U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush and chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Atwater's Scorpio Moon is closely conjunct Reagan's Jupiter and Atwater's Pluto is exactly conjunct Bush's Neptune. Atwater directed ruthless election campaigns for Reagan and Bush, including a dirty tricks operation against Democratic vice-presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro during the Reagan re-election campaign in 1984, and a focus on the issue of the death penalty for first-degree murderers during Bush's 1988 election campaign. These Scorpionic/Plutonic tactics contributed to successful outcomes: Reagan was re-elected (for his second and last term) and Bush succeeded to the presidential office for his first (and only) term.

Patrick Dennis, 1921–1976 (American author)

* Patrick Dennis's novel Auntie Mame: An Irreverent Escapade (1955) was one of the bestselling American books of the 20th century. In chronological vignettes, the narrator — also named Patrick — recalls his adventures growing up under the wing of his madcap aunt, Mame Dennis. Dennis wrote a sequel, Around the World with Auntie Mame, in 1958. Dennis based the character of Mame Dennis on his father's sister, Marion Tanner. He also wrote several novels under the pseudonym Virginia Rowans. All of Dennis's novels employ to some degree the traditional comic devices of masks, subterfuge and deception.

Auntie Mame was played by Rosalind Russell (in a 1956 Broadway production and in the highly successful 1958 screen adaptation), by Angela Lansbury (in Jerry Herman's 1966 musical Mame), and by Lucille Ball (in the 1974 film version).

The flamboyant and exuberant Mame's frequently repeated motto is "Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!" She is represented by Neptune at 11° Leo in Patrick Dennis's chart, as channelled through synastry by these starring ladies: Rosalind Russell had her MC at 14° Leo, Angela Lansbury had 21° Leo rising, and Lucille Ball had her Sun at 13° Leo.

UPDATE: Robert Millar (Scottish road racing cyclist)

* Robert Millar won the "King of the Mountains" competition in the 1984 Tour de France and finished fourth overall. Millar was the first rider from an English speaking country to have won the Mountains classification in the Tour de France. This success was the first time a British rider won a major Tour classification, and was unsurpassed as the highest Tour finish for a Briton until Bradley Wiggins was retrospectively placed third in the 2009 Tour de France. He is one of only four Britons to have won a Tour de France jersey competition along with Wiggins, Chris Froome and Mark Cavendish. He rode the Tour de France eleven times completing the race eight times.

His biography states he was born at 6:15 AM (no source given) but Caroline Gerard kindly looked up his birth entry in the registry which states 6:15 PM. Both sets of data and charts are displayed below. Either way, Millar is at least a quintuple Virgo - with both luminaries plus three planets in this sign. (Ironically, his biography is subtitled "Unravelling the Mystery Surrounding Britain's Most Successful Tour de France Cyclist" yet this book leaves the reader wondering if "AM" is a typo or not, and if not, the exact nature of the source of this info).

* Buck Clayton was a leading member of Count Basie’s "Old Testament" orchestra and a leader of mainstream-oriented jam session recordings in the 1950s. His principal influence was Louis Armstrong. The Penguin Guide to Jazz says that he “synthesi[zed] much of the history of jazz trumpet up to his own time, with a bright brassy tone and an apparently limitless facility for melodic improvisation”. Clayton worked closely with Li Jinhui, father of Chinese popular music in Shanghai. His contributions helped change musical history in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Guy Martin (British motorcycle racer, lorry mechanic, TV presenter)

* Guy Martin primarily competed in road racing events such as the Isle of Man TT, Ulster Grand Prix and North West 200. Widely regarded as an amiable and "colourful" character, Martin has at times found it difficult to concentrate on his racing, primarily as a consequence of the media attention he attracts, not least at the Isle of Man TT.

Martin has also courted a certain degree of controversy, both with race officials and team principals. Since 2011, Martin has also found success as the front man of several television programmes focusing on his passions of engineering, motor vehicles and speed.

He has Uranus unaspected in the last degree of Scorpio.
