Jessica Simpson (American singer, actress, TV personality)

* We have a birth time giving an ascendant sign of Scorpio for Jessica Simpson. The Scorpionic Irresistible (2001) was her first certified Gold album, taking its name from the lead song which was so strongly criticized for the sexuality of its lyrics. The curvy Simpson has both Sun and Moon in bosomy Cancer (with the Moon as final dispositor). In 2005, she played Daisy Duke in the remake of the film The Dukes of Hazzard, and sang on the soundtrack, covering Nancy Sinatra's feisty 1966 hit, "These Boots Are Made for Walkin.'" Simpson also appeared as Daisy Duke in the song's sexed-up video: flirting and singing in a bar and then later washing the General Lee car, wearing a skin-tight, revealing pink bikini. In the last couple of years she has changed tack by starting a family, having given birth to a daughter and a son.

Many thanks to both Kevin Cee who spotted the online news of Simpson's rising sign and to Karen Marie Shelton for confirming that the data came from Simpson's mother.

NATAL DATA and ASTROLOGY CHART

BIRTH DATA: Jessica Ann Simpson, 10 July 1980, 14:45-15:05 (2:45-5:05 p.m.), Abilene, Texas, USA (32n26, 99w43). ASC: 15 Scorpio. RR: A (from mother's memory). SOURCE: Sy Scholfield quotes rising sign of Scorpio in a 2006 online article by Karen Marie Shelton (found on the internet by Kevin Cee): "According to her mom's (Tina Simpson) recollection of her birth time, Jessica was born under the ascending sign of Scorpio." (http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/articles.php?f=tip88803.htm). UPDATE: On 3 December 2014 Scholfield received a reply from Shelton: "When I specifically asked her what time Jessica was born Tina said '4:00 in the afternoon'. She then reminded me that although many people report Jessica was born in Dallas, Texas, she was actually born in Abilene, Texas. Tina didn't hesitate when I asked. She immediately replied with 4:00 pm. I know that sometimes mothers forget the exact time, but Tina seemed very clear & precise about the time."

Nathanael Greene, 1742-1786 (Major general of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War)

* Nathanael Greene, who rose from the lowest military rank to that of Major General, had transformative Pluto conjunct his Moon, both in Scorpio.

Nathanael Greene (August 7 [O.S. July 27] 1742 – June 19, 1786, frequently misspelled Nathaniel) was a major general of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War. When the war began, Greene was a militia private, the lowest rank possible; he emerged from the war with a reputation as George Washington's most gifted and dependable officer. Many places in the United States are named for him. Greene suffered financial difficulties in the post-war years and died suddenly of sunstroke in 1786.

Fanny Mendelssohn / Hensel (New Astrology data and chart)

* According to a biographer, Fanny Mendelssohn was born at 6:30 in the morning of the very day of Napoleon's triumphant entry into Vienna.

Fanny Mendelssohn (14 November 1805 – 14 May 1847), later Fanny [Cäcilie] Mendelssohn Bartholdy and, after her marriage, Fanny Hensel, was a German pianist and composer, the sister of the composer Felix Mendelssohn and granddaughter of the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. She was the grandmother of the philosopher Paul Hensel and the mathematician Kurt Hensel.

Fanny Mendelssohn composed over 460 pieces of music. Her compositions include a piano trio and several books of solo piano pieces and songs. A number of her songs were originally published under Felix's name in his opus 8 and 9 collections. Her piano works are often in the manner of songs, and many carry the name Lied ohne Worte (Song without Words). This style (and title) of piano music was most successfully developed by Felix Mendelssohn, though some modern scholars assert that Fanny may have preceded him in the genre.

She also wrote, amongst other works for the piano, a cycle of pieces depicting the months of the year, Das Jahr ("The Year"). The music was written on coloured sheets of paper, and illustrated by her husband Wilhelm . Each piece was also accompanied by a short poem.

Read more from her Wikipedia biography.

HOROSCOPE NOTES

Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel was an extraordinary musician who left well over four hundred compositions, most of which fell into oblivion until their rediscovery late in the twentieth century. How about that triple Scorpio conjunction of Sun-Mercury-Neptune trine Moon on MC from the 1st House (musical writing just waiting to be discovered)?
