Madame Fraya, 1871-1954 (French chiromancer)

* Madame Fraya (born Valentine Dencausse) was probably the most famous chiromancer in Paris during the first half of the 20th century.

Her clients included important French artists and politicians of the time, such as the Princess of Saxe-Meningen (sister of emperor Wilhelm II of Germany), to whom she reportedly predicted World War I and the defeat of Germany. She was subsequently called into the French Ministry of War, where she assured the government that the marching German troops would not reach Paris (they were in fact stopped at the First Battle of the Marne).

The abilities displayed by Valentine Dencausse were studied by prominent scientists such as Alfred Binet, Eugene Osty, and Albert von Schrenck-Notzing.

She died on 16 February 1954 at 12:30pm in Paris.

Michael Bertiaux (American occultist and Old Catholic Bishop)

* Michael Bertiaux ― author of The Voudon Gnostic Workbook, one of the underground classics of 20th century occultism ― has Neptune rising and a close conjunction of Pluto, Ceres and the Moon all in the Piscean decan of Cancer.

WIKIPEDIA BIOGRAPHY

Michael Paul Bertiaux (born January 18, 1935) is an American occultist and Old Catholic Bishop, known for his book Voudon Gnostic Workbook (1988), a 615-page compendium of various occult lessons and research papers spanning the sub-fields of Voodoo, Neo-Pythagoreanism, Thelema and Gnosticism. Long considered by occultists one of the underground classics of 20th century occultism, the book was out of print for many years and fetched increasingly high prices in the antiquarian market before it was reprinted in paperback by Red Wheel/Weiser in 2007. Note that the unique spelling of "voudon" is an innovation of Bertiaux's, (though it is similar to the traditional spelling of vodun). Bertiaux also coined the term vudutronics to refer to his idiosyncratic interpretation of this religion.

NATAL DATA and ASTROLOGY CHART

BIRTH DATA: Michael Paul Bertiaux, 18 January 1935, about 21:00 (9 p.m.) PST (+8), Seattle, Washington, USA (47n36, 122w19). ASC: about 15 Virgo. RR: A/B (from autobiographical statements). SOURCE: Sy Scholfield (c) calculates an approximate time of birth from statements made by Bertiaux in his The Voudon Gnostic Workbook: Expanded Edition (Weiser Books, 2007): "my Sun sign is Capricorn, my rising sign is Virgo, and my Moon sign is Cancer" (p. 28); "My rising sign is Virgo and I have Neptune rising in that sign . . . My Jupiter . . . is in Scorpio" (p. 29); "For example, my own Uranus in Aries square to my Moon-Pluto conjunction in Cancer forms a kind of a bridge. Then my Jupiter in Scorpio in relation to my Virgo rising creates another kind of a bridge. Also, the mid-heaven is associated with Uranus as the materialization of the aeon. My Vulkanus (=9) is conjunct to my mid-heaven" (p. 86). Date and place of birth from his Wikipedia biography.

Jack Parsons (New Astrology data and chart)

* The biography of Jack Parsons (scientist, poet, and self-proclaimed Antichrist) provides such a detailed account of his birth that the information probably comes from his birth certificate.

John Whiteside Parsons (born Marvel Whiteside Parsons) (October 2, 1914 in Los Angeles, California – June 17, 1952 in Pasadena, California), better known as Jack Parsons, was an American rocket propulsion researcher at the California Institute of Technology and a pioneer in solid rocket fuel research and development. He was one of the principal founders of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Aerojet Corp.

Parsons was also an occultist and one of the first Americans to take a keen interest in the writings of English author and Thelema's founder Aleister Crowley. In this capacity, he joined and eventually led an American lodge of Crowley's magical order, Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.).

HOROSCOPE NOTES

American rocket propulsion researcher? Uranus in Aquarius in 8th House of research ruling Aquarius MC. Mars trine Uranus to add propulsion. Occultist? An exact Saturn-Pluto conjunction trine Mercury-Mars in Scorpio, with Pluto the dispositor. Enough to explain the 'sex and rockets' too. Phew.
