Mary Ellis, 1897–2003 (British stage actress, opera singer, centenarian)

* Mary Ellis was a long-lived star of the British stage best known for her roles in the genre of musical theatre. After appearing with the Metropolitan Opera beginning in 1918, later appearing opposite Enrico Caruso, she acted on Broadway, creating the title role in Rose Marie. In 1930, she emigrated to England, where she gained additional fame and continued to perform into the 1990s. Ellis published her memoirs in 1982 under the title Those Dancing Years. A further autobiography Moments of Truth followed in 1986. She died in London on 30 January 2003, aged 105.

Anna Moffo, 1932–2006 (American opera singer, TV personality, actress)

* The Sun tends to amplify the qualities of any planet that enters its rays by conjunction. Ann Moffo had the Sun conjunct Venus (both in Cancer and on the Ascendant) at the end of her 12th House. Carlisle Floyd (American opera composer)

* Carlisle Floyd's Susannah (1955) ― one of the most performed American operas (second to Porgy and Bess) ― contains many feminist themes. Floyd has an operatic conjunction of Mars-Uranus in Pisces squaring the feminist-oriented Moon in vocal Gemini which rules his Equal 5th House of drama.

Carlisle Floyd (born June 11, 1926, in Latta, South Carolina) is an American opera composer. His operas include Wuthering Heights (1958), The Passion of Jonathan Wade (1962), The Sojourner and Mollie Sinclair (1963), Markheim (1966), Of Mice and Men (1970), Flower and Hawk (1972), Bilby's Doll (1976), Willie Stark (1981) and Cold Sassy Tree (2000). The Houston Grand Opera has announced that a new opera by Floyd will be premiered in the coming seasons, Kynaston, after the 17th-century actor, Edward Kynaston.
